See how a belief system can affect an entire civilization. Learn how archaeologists continue to discover information about ancient Egypt. Research, organize, perform, and participate as museum docents in the Ancient Egyptian Wax Museum. ¨Learn about highly developed civilizations that began in the Indus River Valley and nearby areas of modern India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan Study Hinduism and Buddhism, two religions that began in ancient India, are still practiced by millions of people today.

¨A major research project of some type. The emphasis will be on the development of research skills, project development, vocabulary skills, creation of a major product (website, exhibit, performance, documentary, or paper) and honing of presentation skills. Some type of competition will be required. ¨We will study the civilization of ancient Greece which created governmental, artistic, architectural, philosophical, literary, scientific, and mathematical innovations that provided the basis for much of Western European and American culture. We will study Greek root words, mythology, and language in order to build English vocabulary.
